This weekend, Dream Cruise Weekend in the D. I'm appearing at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak. Because of the Cruise, special showtimes are Thursday at 8:00, Friday and Saturday at 9:30 only each night. Check the Comedy Castle website for more details. I also recommend using the 11 Mile rd. Exit on I-75 or the Campbell-Hilton exit on WB I-696 to get to Royal Oak on those nights to avoid traffic.

And next weekend, we're taking the great Corey and Joel Radio Show to the airwaves of WKRK 97.1 FM in Detroit. We'll be on from 10:00pm to 1 AM both Saturday August 25th and Sunday the 26th. Listen in if you can, even if you're not in Detroit as the stations website does stream live. I'll hope to have more on this next week.

Later!

Just keeping everyone updated on the Fishbone's situation from the previous posts. I guess the fire at the place really shut down the room on Wednesdays (they have no kitchen), therefore I was forced to cancel all future shows. I will reschedule them when I'm given the go-ahead. My apologies to all comics and everyone who was expecting the shows to happen. It sucks for me, too.

I'm at Connxtions in Toledo, Ohio this week, Memorial Day weekend. I love playing this club, and if you haven't seen me lately it's probably worth the drive from whereever, because I kill in this room. Humble, ain't I? Check out their website, but note that even though I'm not listed for this week, I WILL be there. There was a scheduling issue that pushed me into this week. Just come to a show, it'll be worth it.

Also, The Corey and Joel Radio is chugging along, so check out the new shows we're doing this week. I was a way for awhile, so we're really going to start cranking them out this week to make up. Hey comics, listen up - you may even get mentioned.

I announced the new comedy night at Fishbone's in Greektown a week or so ago. It's one of the classiest, nicest places in Detroit. So then they go and have a fire! Really, the kitchen burned down and therefore the first comedy show scheduled for May 4th, has been postponed. We'll now kick things off on May 11th (the May 4th show is now on June 1st), and I've reflected that in the show dates, so check it out.

Also, The Corey and Joel Radio Show marches on. We've done eleven shows now and it's really catching on. I think our last few were the funniest shows yet, so go get them. I also added a button on the left, so you can link there easily from this site. Seriously, I've really been opening myself up on the show lately, so if you like me, you'll enjoy it. If you don't like me, it's more fuel for the fire. Go listen!

Don't forget to send me email about anything. The radio show, my live comedy shows, whatever.

No, he didn't get beaten up by an unruly heckler, nor was he beaten by me, the host, for a lousy performance (Mike's really funny). He simply jumped off the top step when leaving the mile high Club Bart stage, and whacked his melon on the audio rack mounted on the wall. The result - a golf ball size knot, a bloody nose and internet infamy. Congrats!

Hey everyone. It's been quite a busy time around here. Since I rebuilt the site as a blog (which everyone seems to like), I've had to learn a bunch of new crap like CSS and RSS, so it's been a challenge. I also moved this site to a new server and things seem swell. Actually, there's a few dead links right now (links and Stories), but I'll fix that soon.

First off, there's a bunch of new show dates listed on the site. These range from such prestigious places as Connxtions in Lansing to the Shovel Bar and Grill in Lima, Ohio. Oh well. I gotta eat.

You'll also see I'm starting to be the semi-regular host every Wednesday night at Fishbone's in Greektown (that's Detroit folks). Fishbone's is a great place and we've got some great line-ups for the month of may so come check it out.

A long awaited announcement is Upchuck the Clown's return appearance at the 2005 Gathering of the Juggalos. I'm hosting the main stage again (well, Upchcuck is), and it should be a lot of fun. If you follow the link above, there's a flash animation with a Violent J poem and there's actually a picture of me (as Upchuck) in it. Very cool. More on this as it approaches.

Also, big thanks to everyone who has listened to The Corey and Joel Radio Show. The show has its own site now (follow the link above), and I've posted the new shows up there. We're really having fun doing it, so give it a listen. It's a show for adults but it's not too dirty, so don't be scared! Also, if you've listened please vote for us on the popular podcast site Podcast Alley. Just follow this link and click where it says "Vote Now". We need to publicize the show and having a high ranking on the 'Alley is the best way to do that. It just takes a second, and it'll make me Corey and I the stars we deserve to be! Ok, we'll just be stars amongst internet broadcasters, but who cares.

Thanks for reading!

Another day another goddamn podcast.

After receiving mixed reviews for the first, Corey Hall and I quickly whipped up the 2nd installment of the "Corey and Joel Radio Show".

This one's at more of a relaxed pace, but we still get some quality jabs in all the while. It's also named the "Eat Betsy Show". Why? Listen to the last 10 minutes, but be warned that it contains some major dirty words. I'd apologize, but it ain't even us saying them!

Topics include reactions to our first show, when news anchors marry, why I'm named Joel, when movie screenings go bad, and Pat O'Brien's rehab.

Hey everyone, Corey Hall and I are debuting our new show, "The Corey and Joel Radio Show" right here on Joelthecomic.com. You can call it a podcast, if you want (because it is), but so many podcasts suck we're not proud of calling it one. Our first show has us carrying on about putting the show together, my ex-girlfriend, Don Imus looking like Frankenstein, Mexican TV, black comedians, Woody Allen, 60 Minutes, MTV and lots more.
